Not to say that Thievery is bad or anything (downloading atm) but watching the trailer tells me that you've made the same mistake as the Thief game series: What master thief would wear Hard Heeled Shoes That Make A Lot Of Noise When Walking?
Now if I was a thief, I would wear soft, silent, slippers....

That's what's been bugging me the most when playnig Thief... =/ oh well.. Looks great anyway

PS This might be in the wrong forum but i thought of it as a suggestion

Something tells me they hadn't invented sneakers back in that age.

And by the way, the only ones who are noisy bastards are those guards with their heavy metal boots. Thieves are fairly silent, provided that you act stealthy and don't go jumping on wooden planks or concrete... if all else fails, chug a catfall or just run like hell.

We're flashy and stylish thieves. We ALWAYS wear our dress shoes when we steal stuff. Why? Because they're good luck, and when guards find you they go "Aha! Nice shoes!".

It's not like the game takes at any particular time period anyway. I mean, they obviously have electricity and vaccines, yet guards go around wearing full-body metal armor, there are no guns, etc.

Have you played the thief series, man?

The thief time period is a mix between medieval and the industrial revolution. Makes up something really nice, if you ask me. I think this is what made thief such a great game to me.

Of course I've played Thief! I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that the time period in the game doesn't represent any human time period.

It's steampunk. It's what the world might be like if the Sons of Ether paradigm had gained popularity.
