  • New Engine?

Have you managed to make a new engine with this or what?
Because when i run Thievery, it's completely unplayable, lags more than UT2003 on a 386
Now normal UT lags NOTHING, none, not a bit.. =/ even the menu lags in Thievery.

    Now i have a AMD Athlon 1.6Ghz, 512 DDR RAM, 80GB HDD & Geforce 4 MX 420 64MB

Now i must be doing something wrong coz it Can't lag like this =(

Hell, it lags more than the doom 3 alpha ش_ش
And yes i have the latest drivers for my gfx card i updated them this morning.. gah

uuh, k.. I lowered everything to the lowest value possible, sure the game runs smooth.. but it looks like crap and the menus still lag like hell -_- *sigh* must be something i can do, even UT2003 doesn't lag..

This kind of problem can occur if you don't properly uninstall previous video drivers first.

Start your system in "Safe Mode". It should look really ugly, 640 X 480 resolution, and 16 colors. Uninstall your drivers while in this mode, so they're uninstalled while not being used, and can uninstall completely. Then reboot, and install the new drivers. Alternately, there's a Detonater Destroyer for nVidia's Detonator drivers that works quite well. I don't have a reference for it at the moment, however. I'm sure a search will turn it up, if you look.

What version of the Detonator drivers are you using, anyway? With nVidia, I've found that often, the beta release of their new drivers performs worse than the previous version does? You might want to step down a version, and see how that works.
