  • Annoying Noise

I re-installed Thievery about a month ago on my computer, and ever since than I've had a weird problem. You know that secret door in the Director's room on Aquatone? That door that has the loot, health, and evidence? And you know that weird creeking noise it makes when it opens? Well, every 15 minutes I get that noise on my computer. It doesn't matter if I'm playing TuT or not. I'll just be surfing the internet and than all of a sudden, "creeeeeeeeeeeek, bang!" Every 15 minutes it does this. It's quite annoying. I could solve the problem by doing another install I'm sure. But I don't feel like doing a new install. I just thought I'd let you guys know that I have to listen to that sound every 15 minutes on my computer. And it's been doing this for a month too. LOL!

LMAO!!! If its doing that every 15 minutes, even when TUT isn't open, you have more issues than a simple TUT problem, my friend.

Could it be possible that you have set a thievery sound as a windows error sound or something else?

Also, make sure that your soundcard is as far away as possible from all other PCI-Cards, especially the creative ones tend to get distorted when close to a modem etc.

I do not mean to make fun of what was said, but that reminds me of a time my friend and I were playing Doom over the modem. I mean, we both took turns in the same PC against another person on the other end. Doom over modem was the "wow thing" those days.

Well, we played so much, I mean so really much; that after we called it quits and sit to talk next to the front door of the house, we would still hear the noise of the dogs at the same time! We would say; man! did you hear that? Yep, we both heard the same thing at the same time. The thing went on for awhile until it fizzled. It was funny and wierd at the same time.

              Hasn't happened again though (phew!)

You actually got scared by Doom's excellent sound FX's?
