  • New Guard Item: Horsehair brush

I had this great idea for a guard item, basically it's like a large brush. It's somewhat expensive (for balance), but its primary use is to sweep up moss.

Its selected like a weapon (perhaps in the blackjack slot, since guards can't have blackjacks), and attacking moss with the brush will move the moss a little bit away from the guard, until you've hit the moss 10 times, at which point it dissapears. Each attack takes some time, so you can't clean up moss real fast, but it does give guards a way to get rid of the stuff by taking some time to actually do it. Also, since the guard cant have another weapon ready when sweeping, they should only be able to do it when there aren't any theives around, otherwise they risk a KO. Maybe it could also be made so that coltraps which were hit by the moss would be ruined and would dissapear when swept as well, so the moss arrow is still useful (someone could put more traps there to replace them tho)...

Maybe an additional item for thieves would allow them to move moss without risking destroying it (so a thief could put the moss back if a guard just moved it away). Maybe let thieves pick up and drop moss globs?

Maybe something funny could happen if a guard tries to attack a thief with the brush?

Yeah, it could mess up thief hair

I don't like it. Why simulate sweeping wet things off the floor, when any one of us could get a job doing it within mere hours?

 Nachimir are you offering to be Thieverys "Moss Boy" I want to know why moss pieces highlight as though frobbable if you go near them- I think someone suggested being able to use flares to dry out the moss and make them hard for any thief using them again I wouldn't mind seeing the rope arrows being able to be set alight with a flare- Any thief on the rope would have to be a quick mover as the fire shot up towards them 8)

          Ropes burn? Only slow, irl...

Oh well, in that case they should put out by water. And what about climbing from the 2nd to 3rd floor on Folly? There's a lot of torches there...

The previous suggestion, which I still favour, is that flares can be used to burn away moss. The moss would puff smoke a few times, much like lighting a torch, then smoulder and disappear. This would need to be done for each section of a patch of moss, so one flare would burn 2-3 sections, and take a little time to do it. Caltrops would not reappear (I kind of wish they would, but the way the game works now the moss destroys them, so it would need to somehow negate them without destroying them for them to reappear when it's removed).

              Does moss really burn?

*Goes to try it outside back door*

              *AHHH! HOUSE ON FIRE!!!*

I like this one, maybe the moss can turn into a little flame like when a flare arrow hits? all adjancet moss will catch fire too slowly, and so on....

                MOSS DOES NOT BURN!!!

Couldn't we use the broom present in maps as a pickup instead? And use it to scrub the moss of?

Assassin could be right. Moss is a bit damp for that.

Now this idea I like. Plus it could even allow a guard to block if he gets caught by a thief while sweeping and sees the thief before he gets KO'd. The guard could run away, using the broom to block... If nothing else, could be funny to watch...
