Yes, its true, I've just created a new clan to encourage unorthodox playing methods. You may remember my Black Jack Horrors clan, which kind of fell apart, then exploded in a mushroom cloud after I was forced to ghost Grange. That's a tale for another day, but ghosting Grange. Oh man, dunno what happened there...But no kills and no KOs makes BJH a dead clan.

Anyway, back to The Healer Project, yes, more of a project than a guild. Rules dictate members' actions at all times while wearing the tag.

Thieves are under the dictation that you must thief your best, whether it be ghoster, DMer, or slacker. Whatever you do as a thief, you must do it well.

Guards, on the other hand, are changed to complete pacifists. Now, a pacifist can help out in more ways than one, but here's the list for simplicity of things you must consider and do\not do.
    • -Ye must never purchase a sword or mace from the shop, or pick up a spare sword or mace from some naughty mapper.
-Ye must never ever use the crossbow, whether it be for smacking or shooting.
-Ye may use any item with the exclusion of mines, which must be disposed of in a dark corner and\or underwater with haste.
-Ye must carry a sufficient amount of healing potions and food, and give it to injured teammates. Even if they do not ask, offer.
-Ye must not get KOed by a thief while carrying aforementioned items; take no unnecessary risks, and try not to walk through even small shadows without a bodyguard to retrieve your items.
-Ye must relight any torch ye see. A lit area is a safe area.
-Since ye cannot use weapons, with the sole exclusion of catrops, doorblock thieves in small rooms and call for help, or chase after them with a flare in hand. Unarmed combat is fine. Mario'ing is also fine.
-This list may be added onto at any time without further notification to the public

What will a flare do to a thief if can't hurt him? He will only run in grab the stuff and get out... Pick the mines, Moss on caltrops... Whistler? Forget the whistler... It can't hurt you...

(What about the AI??? will they get banned? )
hehe.... this is a sig no?

I think the point is more to try and create a medic class like in games like Team Fortress.

Someone who specialises in not opposing the enemy directly, but bolstering their team mates.

I also don't think it would be very effective.

This would be a great way to improve games when THP are playing.

              Provided... they're nice people.
              The only constant is change.
(And I wouldn't have it any other way.)

Only people that wear the THP tag must follow THP rules.

                Otherwise, very positive response, Kain

I think the no-combat idea is dumb though.

Why am I doing this? Its far far too easy to just slice and dice a thief into oblivion. It's much much harder to be an effective spotter for someone else, and is more rewarding for you both. They get a kill, you are an unorthodox and successful player.

It's a bit silly, yes. But just as effective as the way the rest of you guard. You judge without seeing first.

BTW. It might have been called The Pacifist Project, but hell if I'm naming a clan TPP.

For sure I like more to thief than to guard, so if Im a Guard
I want a fast round. Whats faster than to kill the Thiefs?
I would be bored to death staying 40min on the objectives
                            without killing a Thief.

                              OK... I'll bite.

However, I think it imprudent to wear the tag, and thus proclaim you shall "Do no harm."... that's asking for a circle-strafe KO... Perhaps the crossbow should be allowed only in self-defense?

And why are caltrops allowed, but mines are not?

Perhaps certain bolts should be allowed, such as tag bolts and maybe para bolts?

Even medics carried some form of protection.

Oh, and as an addendum, perhaps a rule that you shall revive those poor KO'ed guards with all due speed and relentlessly search for them to revive them?
