  • M defeats TCO in a gripping tie-breaker...

    Match Summary

:swordthi: Round 1: Mockers Thieve th-Nostalgia
Stakhanov, Cliff and Biohazard vs Beast, Rodent and Yenzarill

Game started out with me and Beast patrolling about with swords, that didn't last long. Rodent was ghosting, and got 1480 loot by himself. I had a particularly bad game, dying a couple of times. It came down to rodent and Beast. Beast did a great job of distracting the guards as rodent got 1500+ loot, and exited, to almost single handedly win the round (WITHOUT stealing the lyre)

Round 2: The Chosen Ones thieve th-Nostalgia
MegaDeath, Chalrif and Biohazard vs Beast, Rodent and Yenzarill
TCO got an early start, Biohazard nabbed the lyre, but died, escaping with 500 loot. From then on the loot was grabbed from under our noses and before i knew it they'd gone, TCO wins.

Round 3: The Chosen Ones thieve th-Spider
Alpha-Omega, MegaDeath and Biohazard vs Beast, Rodent and Yenzarill
Mockers rushed the apartments just in time to beat Alpha-Omego to the door. With his rush out of the way, mockers set up a huge barricade of trops, whistlers, mines, AI, Burning trees, hippos, boxes, anything, just outside the apartments. We sat by our barricade for the rest of the match, and eventually we won.

 Result: Mockers win, and Claim th-Nostalgia as turf.

Great games, thanks to TCO for the high level of play we got out of them, and thanks to grank and LaughingRat for organising and Speccing, thanks to Biohazard for hosting.

Now, if someone from TCO would like to post their side of the event...
(sorry but i don't really know what was going on in their side of the game).

WHAT? This is new, no DM wins!!

Yeah anyways, why were there 3 rounds btw? Maby it's turfwar rules, but that kinda sucks. If you have a guards map and you guard map you have 75% chance that you are the winner. And same goes for thief maps.

          Meh, good job

Phae, maybe you should have taken a look at the TurfWars rules before TSG signed up...

It's a matter of luck and strategy, when the game comes down to a tie-breaker map.

And we had to guard spider to win, which I think most people would agree is a thief's map...

                Good job, Mockers!
And my condolences to TCO, I'm sure this was a great match for both teams.

                Now suffer KYO's wrath.

Your account (for the last 2 rounds which I witnessed) was pretty accurate, save not mentioning the 1,500 ping the erupted from AO as he tried to get into the apartments in the tie breaker round. Without that 1500 ping, maybe he would have seen the :.m defense blocking the apartments. As it happened, he could not see the two whistlers in front of the door (due to lag, I assume) and "plummeted to his death" leaving the door to the apartments unlocked.

Biohazard's last attempt to save the tie breaker was thwarted, when he accidently shot a broadhead at the ai instead of a crack... killing both him, and the ai instantly.

That is all I have to add.

Thanks :.m for a great match.

                    TCO Match Awards

Round 1: Guards- Biohazard, Cliff, and Stakhanov

Stakhanov played an amazing round with 2 critical match kills.

Round 2: Thieves- Chalrif, Biohazard, and Megadeth

MegaDeth secured the most loot among all of the TCO thieves, and played an excellent game.

Round 3: Thieves- MegaDeth, Biohazard, and Alpha-Omega

Despite the huge lag mounted against her, AO managed to grab the key and barely make it into the appartment. After that failed, nothing could get past the M defense of the apps.

Both games on Nostalgia were VERY close. It could have gone either way IMO. But fun games were had by all, and M was very enjoyable to play against.

                    Thanks for the games.

Yes, Alpha-Omega suffered some hideous lag.

I don't think the lag would have made much of a difference to the outcome, by the time Alpha-Omega got to the door I already was standing right next to it, with 2 whistlers and 3 AI, but it was a great (and very fast) rush from Alpha-Omega there, none-the-less

Great games all around, all three rounds were very close.

I was way too confident, that rush has never failed me before then, I really took my time getting there.

IMHO, if the guards guard the APARTMENTS, instead of the KEYS, a win is quite possible. Especially, when they don't go running off into the blue...
