Ok, I think the general consensus is that no one is going to allow 'dual-membership' for guild members. Most obvious reason being is that the guilds like to keep their specific secrets to themselves.
How would you feel about allowing members to join a 'clan' and still stay within your guild? Let me define. Guilds are groups of players that exist for the purposes of participating in matches and comparing strategy. A 'clan' would exist more for reasons other than strategy. Their member lists would be open to the public, and any matches that they may participate in would be purely exibitionary.
Suggestions for different clans:
Mapping clan: An advanced form of the mapping forum. Mappers would share their mapping skills with other members, and work to create tutorials and improve aspects of the game.
(your area here) clan: This would be for members who live in a specific region. Perhaps they get together to play Thievery on a LAN once in a while, or just go out to have fun.
Newbie clan: A clan of experienced players who volunteer their time to teach others on their style of play, or to just show newbies the basics of the game.
Again, they don't exisit to share guild secrets or compete, but rather for another purpose altogether. But with the current mood, I am not sure if they would be accepted or not, which is why I am bringing it up. Would clans, as per my definition, be acceptable?
