  • TM map Neighbours

    Heya

    I want to make a tm map using two maps: CountryAbode2 and Semaiyo.Each house will be in front of the other.
    First i tryed to open the countryabode2, and i saved it with an other name, than i opened the semaiyo, and i discovered that the both exits are in a different way. I selected all Actors from the semayo, i copied the actors, and the i pasted in the countryab. Then i tryed to to do a brush rotate to the semayo, for the houses to be in front of eachothers.After i rotated semayo,than i Builded all, i have discover that some brushes from the semayo are not in a good position:

    Any idea how to rotate it and to not change any brush?
    P.S: im n00b at UED

    You'll need to re-import everything again.

    Open two instances of Ued.

    In the first one load the original map (I'll use abode as an example).

    Now select the brushes.

    On one of the brushes wireframes, right click and go to:

    Transform>Transform Permenantly

    Now you can use copy on the brushes.

    Now in the second instance of UEd, paste in the brushes.

    Now save the newly pasted map.

    Going back into abode, select all the brushes again, and delete them.

    Now use select all to grab all the actors like lights etc, and then paste them into your newly made map.

    Save the new map again, and Build All

    Remeber of course to never save Abode or any modified original map, because it will stop working online for you.

      shame i can't help with the Building side (the only really 3D mapper i could ever use was for Doom (not the new junk, REAL Doom). Sounds like it might be a good map though ^_^

        Thx now is working!
        But sometimes when im moving throught map, the UED is stucking and what i cant do is only to do a End Task to ued, and then appear a error:
        Critical Error
        General protection fault!

        History: URender::ClipBspSurf <-URender::OccludeBsp<-URender::OccludeFrame<-UEditor::tick <-UpdateWorld <-MainLoop

        P.S:I maked exacly what u say on Countryabode2, but after i Build All, almost all the textures are white. I tryed to load all the TuT textures before to Build All, but nothing.

          I havent looked at the textures, but its possible county uses the ut textures and not the tut ones, might have to load some of them as well, if u right click a texture - propites, the top line tells you the texture package, load that one in the map ur importing to, before you paste anything into it. (the list i sent you in one of them pms are normaly the common ones, but some mappers like to use there own also, when a mapper has saved textures to the map itself so no texter pack, you cannot load those textures, so you get the bubble texture) you can allways add different textures yourself

          unreal ed crashes every now and then, there are many reasons, somtimes it was choppy to me, like it was sticking, closeing unreal ed and loading a new one normaly solved it

            Oky Keggie, now it works
            My fault was because i was importing textures after i imported the map

              What i missed?

              Heya again
              So.. i take each map(Semayo and abode) in a different UED, i have deleted some brushes(the gate, exit zone, etc), i have deleted some actors(From abode: TObjectivehelper,a trigger, a specialevent,some block all,thieverysketchmapinfo, a zoneinfo; And from semayo:Thobjectivehelper,a thievery zone info,some brushes)then i do a Transfor<transform permanently only on Semayo, then i rotated the map in the direction i want.Then i go to abode and i loaded all the textures(TuT and UT). Then i selected all Actors , i copied them, then i pasted in the abode.Then i put semayo in front of abode, i builded all, and i got a error.

              P.S: i think i done a mistake, to build it while the semayo is selected.i tryed to build it with nothing selected but still he give the error

                If you could host the map somewhere for download it might be easier for helping to troubleshoot the problem for you

                    It worked fine for me, and looked fine (after I d/led the map pack for tut 1.6 so I had all the required files the two maps use).

                    Deleted a few odd actors you didn't need, but nothing serious showing.

                    Anyway I did a build all on it for you so here it is so you can d/l it again.

                    What are your system specs, I'm wondering if you ran out of resources (ued can be quite hungry when it feels like it ).

                      Heyery! Good idea, strange that this maps having low performance, i only feels on Th-Cult so, but this maps are so small..
                      Btw. this place is buggy, get cratered there, and ai too. underwater on simayo.

                      i tried again, cratering everytime there, and its not like water, just a texture.
                      What if u would add 3th map - Lord Beck B2? And in the middle of em all, park from th-Marked, so u need go through park, to pass another map. In my meaning, that would be a cool mix. Set in park some Ai patroling areas between maps and park. Do some corridors like bushes or trees. Would be a nice coop, or singleplay map.

                          Until i was waiting for a answer about that error, i have make some chages on Semayo .Here is some photos and the map: http://files.filefront.com/Th+neighb.../fileinfo.html
                          There are still some bug and thinks to fix.
                          PS for Chief:
                          I will take your map and see what i can do.I will try to import again the semayo in abode, i will delete some odd: actors,and maybe will work, because i dont want to make that changes to semayo again.
                          My sistem specs:My video card is Radeon x550 with 256 mb RAM, 1 GB RAM,and AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.01GHz
                          PS for Alyx: Nice idea to put the th-market and add the lordbeck, but i will try to make 2 maps: 1 with 2 maps(abode, and semayo and in the middle to be market on thats im working now) and the map 2 to have 4 houses(semayo, abode, kamasutra, and lordbek, and in the middle to be the market)
                          But i think i need a help to do this maps because im still a newbie at UED and it takes a lot to create these
                          PS for Keggie: Can i use your map in my maps,right?

                          Soo who can help me with the countryabode + semayo + market?

                          Edit: I will look at that water too, maybe i will make it more bigger

                              cool! I wish could help, but im not even a noob in ued. Only what i can do, is set music for a map, and nothing more :/
