    Edit: going to quote it so people don't have to work out which post I'm referring to in the thread. From the_Dan:
    "There is an actor (I can't remember the name) that reduces the AI's hearing threshold by a certain amount, when the AI is in the actors collision cylinder. This was made so you place this actor next to machinery/ambience/etc. & AI won't be able to hear other noises quite as well.

    I just thought you should all know, since you're busy discussing how to implement the very same (or at least quite similar) idea."
