    how to use them for map optimization?

    what should be made semisolid? decorational stuff? i did it with pillars, planks, small walls, some little stairs...

    and what are the major differences to solids? i know AI can see through them - are there differences regarding sound or light too? i looked to the TUT-Maps for reference and some had in fact LOTS of them, so im just curios. I also know they reduce node-count but increase polys - so should i go on a "solidity-rampage" and convert all smaller additive brushes to semisolids (expect the "hide-behind" stuff) ?

      so for bots they in fact dont exist...means probably a more complex stairset wouldnt work - but for human players they are like any normal solid brush right?
