  • Final *Hopefully* update

Thanks to all the people who beta tested TH-Sheriff before. I have a new version ready that for better or for worse will be the final version, apart from any minor fixing. There's plenty of new stuff added since the previous version (1.21), including a new objective for thieves, where thieves have to find some evidence in a safe.

I didn't want to turn it into another Gerome, so the evidence can randonly appear in 1 of 5 safes located around the house. The safes can be lockpicked or opened with 1 of the 3 keys lying around. I've made plenty of other changes, and tried to follow some of the advice people have given, though most likely not all. :p

The map file size has almost doubled from the previous version. It's about 5.3 Mb now, and compiling takes about 4 mins, plus the map was lagging very slightly in one or two places due to high poly count, so I am reluctant to add any more stuff to it. I don't think there's much, if anything to fix, but let me know if there is anything. Thanks.

You know NightBlade will be on 2k4, right?

Yeah I know, but I can still do some mapping using the NB mapping pack right? I'm not planning to build a proper map, or anything, just to get used to the tools. Am I wrong in assuming that?

Oh no, I just didn't want you buying 2k3 then having to buy 2k4 to play it since you said on your site you'd ordered it. The mapping pack is still designed for 2k3 though and will work on either.

Ok, so I lied. I have one more update for you guys. I'm not going to say anything apart from that imo it now feels like a much more finished and playable map.

Finally checked out that final version of TH-Sheriff. Nice job!

The outside areas make my fps rates drop, but not a big thing there.
The sounds and guard speeches seem somehow way muffled by the walls, compared to other maps. But I don't know if that can be helped.

Anyway, it's good to see those added objectives. Is this map on somebody's server rotation?
